Founded in 2017 by Hélène Desmarais and Andrea Lodi, IVADO Labs is a leading AI service provider that develops AI applications for business supply chains. Its mission is to accelerate the transfer of AI technology from academia to business, with the goal of creating the next generation of AI-driven companies with global scale and impact. Since 2017, more than 35 large-scale projects combining machine learning and operations research, have been completed.

The team’s goal is to enable Canadian companies to achieve a new standard of excellence in supply chain management and increase profitability. Example of achievement 1: Development of a solution to improve demand forecasting by applying the concepts of machine learning (ML) and stochastic optimization (SO). Improvements in forecasting have made it possible to significantly reduce spare part inventory levels and associated costs (-50% inventory for some categories). Example of achievement 2: Development of a road-planning optimization tool to reduce empty trips (-10% of distance travelled empty), leading to reduced transport costs and reduced CO2 emissions.
