The mission of IID (Institute Intelligence and Data) at Université Laval is to federate and support expertise and innovation in artificial intelligence and data valorization in the Quebec City region, by placing itself at the heart of a world-class centre of excellence in these and related research fields.

Institute Intelligence and Data (IID), an indispensable collaborative community The IID is an indispensable collaborative environment for any organization in the greater Quebec City area that wants to maintain its standing and that of the AI ecosystem. The Institute offers a wide range of training and events, and fosters a collaborative business approach. Through the combined expertise of its top researchers and research professionals, the infrastructure and knowledge within its four founding research centres, and its rich partner network, the IID offers comprehensive expertise in data science and artificial intelligence in a wide range of fields.

Description

Inaugurated in January 2020, IID helps train qualified personnel in the fields of AI, data science, and related disciplines. The Institute develops online and in-person training activities, supports internship programs and customized training activities, and promotes existing programs in collaboration with its academic partners. The IID is an indispensable collaborative centre for any organization in the Quebec City region area that wants to secure their positioning with regard to technological and digital issues. Through the combined expertise of the Institute and its founding centres as well as the infrastructure at Université Laval’s campus, the Institute offers a comprehensive expertise in data science and AI. The IID, its researchers and partners have access to various data banks capable of supporting research activities or business development within the framework of collaborative projects. In this way, the Institute actively brings value to the data complied and collated by the university community and its partners while supporting its access and use.
